12:00 a.m. is midnight, 12:00 p.m. is noon. Mixed formats are a common source of countdown errors.
Midnight is hour 0 on a 24-hour clock and 12:00 a.m. in common U.S. usage. Noon is hour 12 and 12:00 p.m. The dangerous values are 12 a.m. and 12 p.m., not 3:00.
How Long Until parses both styles on how long until. Pages exist for every 15-minute mark, such as 12:00 a.m. and 3:15 p.m.. Individual minutes between those marks stay on the main calculator instead of becoming extra URLs.
When you share a countdown, include the zone. “Friday at 12” without a.m./p.m. or a zone is two-by-two ambiguous.
